Alexis ("Allie") Gee, author of The Quiet Game, is a high school junior who was inspired to write her book by the shocking pain and suffering she felt studying the Holocaust, touring the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and reading Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel's book Night. Allie is so proud that, when asked to comment on The Quiet Game Mr. Wiesel personally wrote to her: "I believe that one who hears a survivor becomes a witness. It is clear to me that you understand the meaning of these words."
Allie sees the publishing of The Quiet Game as an opportunity to educate children about the Holocaust by the telling of a Holocaust story from a child's point of view that will stimulate discussions between parent and children or teachers and students as to why the Holocaust must be remembered so humanity will strive to prevent such tragedies from happening again. All proceeds from sales of The Quiet Game support of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and their on-going Holocaust education programs. Allie's goal is to sell a minimum of 5,000 copies of The Quiet Game by September 1, 2010 to support this worthy cause.
Allie would like to express her deep gratitude to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for their support in helping to get The Quiet Game published.
The Quiet Game is now available for $9.98 including shipping through the US Holocaust Memorial Museum Gift Shop and website. The USHMM is offering discounts for multiple copy orders.
